5 OUT OF 5: DREAMS COME TRUE AT EASTSIDE STORIES SHOWCASE

REVIEW | CHASING DREAMS
*****
By Rebecca K Muttu

Chasing Dreams, a play put together by music event students (DV8) about living up to your own expectations and following your dreams was much more than I expected.

Jay (played by Jermaine), a youngster takes a turn for the better after losing a close friend but discovers that not everyone is supportive of the new life he has chosen to lead. Not to mention his girlfriend finds out she’s pregnant!

The show also features sensational acts from Double S and Chipmunk, Evolution music, Frisco and Tor.

Chasing Dreams includes a rather touching poem by Cashman (former music event student) which had the audience agape followed by a roar of applause and cheering.

Although majority of the cast were first time performers the show was huge success. The crowd was live and gave excellent response and the Fusion team rated the show 5 stars.

If there is a must see for summer 2008, then this show is definitely it!
Chasing Dreams is a fantastic show, a great mind opening experience encouraging the youth to follow their dreams and leave street life behind.
